Growing Up Through Teenage Pregnancy — And Growing Into Myself

Updated: Dec 21, 2025

A lot of us who were born into teenage pregnancies carry a weight we never asked for. It’s unspoken, but it shows up everywhere:

in the pressure to “beat the statistics,”

in the quiet fear of disappointing the people who sacrificed for us,

and in the long journey toward understanding who we are outside of how we began.

I grew up in that tension.

The narrative around kids like us is often narrow: struggle, instability, survival. But nobody talks about the other side — the resilience that gets forged early, the emotional maturity that blooms faster than our peers, the deep awareness that our lives matter because somebody fought hard to bring us here.

As a child of a teenage pregnancy, the self-development journey isn’t optional. It’s survival. But it’s also an opportunity to build a life defined by our own choices, not by our origin story.

Rewriting the Story With Intention

At some point, you realize your starting point doesn’t dictate your finish line.

But rewriting that story requires tools — real ones. The kind that help you understand your patterns, your purpose, and the professional identity you want to build.

That’s exactly why I created Starving Artists BHM.

This platform wasn’t built for perfection; it was built for people like us — people who’ve had to navigate hard realities early and are now ready to elevate. Whether you’re healing old narratives, stepping into leadership, or learning to move from survival to strategy, the resources are designed to meet you where you actually are.

Tools That Help You Break Cycles, Build Skills, and Become Who You’re Meant to Be

Here are a few ways you can start transforming your life using the Starving Artists BHM tools:

1. Strength in the Story

A course that shows you how to turn your background — even the parts you once hid — into your competitive edge.

It teaches confidence, ownership, and how to build a narrative you’re proud to walk into any room with.

2. Professional Development Worksheets & Workbooks

From soft skills to leadership development, these resources help you move from raw potential to polished readiness. Kids of teen parents often learn responsibility early; these tools help you refine it.

3. Purpose-Driven Courses & Community Support

Whether you’re rebuilding, reinventing, or just beginning, the Starving Artists community gives you a space to grow without judgment — only accountability and elevation.

Growing Up Doesn’t Mean Growing Alone

If you’re a child of teenage parents, hear me clearly:

You are not your circumstances.

You are a whole story still unfolding.

And you have every right to build a life you’re proud of.

Self-development isn’t selfish; it’s stewardship.

And when you heal, grow, and lead — you break generational ceilings.

Starving Artists BHM exists to give you the strategy, support, and tools to do exactly that.
