Birmingham Basics is a free, three-part workshop series designed to break down how our city government works—and how you can make your voice count. In this interactive series, you’ll learn: Who Runs Birmingham – Discover how the Mayor, City Council, and city departments work together (and sometimes against each other) to shape your daily life. How Decisions Get Made – Follow the process behind city laws, ordinances, and budgets so you can understand—and even influence—where your tax dollars go. How YOU Can Get Involved – Get the tools to contact your representatives, attend meetings, join boards, and make your voice heard in Birmingham’s future.
